Dietician Anagha Jadhav, a Mumbaikar by birth, has always been a believer in giving back to the community. Founder of Anagha’s World and a significant contributor to the nutrition and wellness industry, Anagha has over 15 years of professional experience. After pursuing her Masters in Dietetics from the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, Pune in 2002, she was associated with various clinics and hospitals. Whilst working in Pune, she managed two slimming clinics simultaneously. She conducts her practice online and all over the globe. She has experience in diet planning and nutritional consulting in association with Wockhardt Hospital, Tata Cancer Hospital, KEM Hospital, NES International School, Bodyzone Gym, Bodycare Slimming Centre, and VLCC Slimming & Beauty Centre.
Given the emergency lockdown all over the world due to the Coronavirus, Anagha was forced to stay back in the UK with her family. This, however, did not stop her from learning new things and helping people. She started attending various webinars by the Indian and British dietetic associations to learn more about how healthy food choices can influence recovery and by the World Health Organisation (WHO) which emphasised Nutrition Management.
Mrs. Anagha realized that there was a lack of awareness about following the right diet post-Covid; thus, she decided to consult post-Covid patients for free. She believes in providing symptom-based individualised diet plans to all. She put out the word using social media like Facebook and Twitter and in some cases, interested people emailed or directly got in touch with her. Anagha strongly believes that being a good counsellor is important above everything else. When she prescribes a diet plan to someone, she explains in detail what and why something is being included. Even before Covid, she has been a guest lecturer and key speaker at many schools, colleges and held many corporate presentations.
Another praise-worthy habit that Anagha possesses is being in constant touch with all her patients and conducting regular follow-ups. In an interview, she told me about the days when she kept her paying patients on hold for helping Covid patients; this tells us a lot about her dedication towards helping society. She further stated that the positive feedback she receives from the people she consults is her motivation. She hopes that the people of India will soon understand the importance of post-discharge diets. She urges people not to believe false WhatsApp forwards and consult with professionals and experts.
Apart from her consultations, she is active on Facebook, YouTube, and WordPress where she posts informative videos and articles that benefit everyone. She has a very positive message for everyone: “All those who have specialised knowledge must share it. It is imperative to work and give back to the community. People on the higher echelon must guide and advise their juniors. It is only through sharing the knowledge can we be an all-inclusive harmonious society.”
