Service to mankind is the highest ideal emphasized by all great personages of all times. With the same purpose Robin Hood Army was founded by Neel Ghose , Anand Sinha and Sanchit Jain.The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer-based Zero funds organization that works to get surplus food from restaurants to the less fortunate sections of society in cities across India and 14 other countries. The organization consists of over 78,262 volunteers (approximately) in 204 cities, and have served food to over 66.17 million people so far and have distributed rations in over 200 cities across India, Bahrain, Botswana, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Uganda.The volunteers are people from all walks of life. The less fortunate sections who the organization reaches out to include homeless families, orphanages, night shelters, homes for abandoned children, patients from public hospitals, etc.
Their local chapters are run by friends and colleagues, who hope to create a difference in their own unique way. For example, restaurants in the Green Park neighbourhood contribute to the homeless of the locality through volunteers who live in Green Park. Their “Robins” are largely students and young working professionals – everyone does this in their free time. they serve include homeless families, orphanages, patients from public hospitals, and old age homes.
With over 28 million people served — the army streamlines its processes to set up hyperlocal community chapters across the world. Their focus is to become a global engine which brings out the best of humanity using food as a medium.
