It is not quite often that one gets a second chance in life. Jasper Paul is a lucky man who survived a car crash at the age of 19. He is an engineer from Hyderabad. One day when he was travelling by his car, suddenly he applied brakes, and his car overturned thrice, yet he came out of the car with no injuries. Life gave him a second chance.

After this incident, Jasper felt immensely lucky to get a second chance at his life. It brought him to a realisation that he has not accomplished anything meaningful in his life yet other than his day-to-day antics. He wanted to use this opportunity to help people in need and make his second chance worth it. Inspired by his idea of the second chance, he established a foundation, namely the ‘Second Chance Foundation‘. Now, he has dedicated his life to helping destitute and elderly people. The motto of his foundation is based on James chapter 1 verse 27, which commands everyone to look after orphans, widows, and people in distress.

Once when Jasper was near a railway station, he saw an old lady sitting on the footpath; she was hurt and was bleeding. When he talked to her, she told him that she has nobody to support or take care of her. With the help of a police constable, he took her to a hospital for treatment; also, after her treatment, he helped her get accommodation in an old age home. Moreover, he captured a video of the old lady and shared it on social media, which helped him succeed in locating her family. Her family came and picked her from Hyderabad.

Jasper has set up his own shelter home in March 2017 after working with several NGOs in different cities. He has a staff of 12 persons working with him there. He brought several poor and needy people who had nowhere to live to his shelter home. They were given food, clothing, medicines, and most importantly, a comfortable place to live. Further, in his other campaign ‘Be a Blessing’, food is being supplied to the marginalised communities. Besides, he is also a musician who can play nearly every musical instrument.

It is very inspiring to witness our young generation, Jasper amongst many others, have a passion for helping the ones in need. Following his path of altruism, we should also give our contribution to the society we live in and sow the seeds of humanity.
